Pope Francis opened the Jubilee Year 2025 by opening the Holy Doors in Rome beginning in St. Peter’s Basilica on Christmas Eve. Bishop Michael McGovern opened the Jubilee Year in our diocese at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Belleville, IL with the celebration of the Mass of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, on Sunday, Dec. 29.
